Amati Cigar Review

Amati is a name that has become synonymous with some of the finest stringed instruments. So, when it was time to name a premium cigar line that features great Dominican long-filler smokes, the folks at P&C decided on Amati, and they've hit a home run with these tasty Connecticut Shade wrapped gems!

This Amati is aged 27 years, which lends it a dark, oily, almost gravelly appearance. Upon lighting it, however, the smoke quickly opens up, becoming richer and more aromatic. It begins with a tangy wood note that hints at dry tobacco. This is followed by raisin paste, cocoa powder and a delicate baking spice blend that is reminiscent of cinnamon.

Amati's creamy flavors are balanced by a smooth and razor sharp burn that makes for a solid smoking experience. This is an easy-going smoke that can be enjoyed by novices and veterans alike, especially when paired with a vodka and lime juice, or soda.

Amati is machine-made in the Dominican Republic by Elie Bleu Cigars, using premium Cuban seed grown in the Dominican Republic. These cigars are rolled in a Hyper-Rustic, mini pyramid-like shape with thick veins and a slightly oily, yet dry feel to the wrapper. They are packed in a box of 25 and feature an excellent draw with a firm, grayish-colored ash.
