Zen go review

The antelope zen go brings Antelope's impressive Synergy Core system to a much wider audience in a more affordable and impressively portable USB bus powered interface. Packed with the same technologies that power high-end interfaces like the Orion Studio and Galaxy 64 Synergy Core, Zen Go is perfect for audio engineers and artists looking to take their productions to a new level without having to get up from their desks.

Zen go comes with a USB-C to Type-C cable, and is designed for ultra low latency recording, high-resolution playback, creative beat making, podcasting and more - all from the palm of your hand. It's also a good choice for on the move production as you can power it from your computer and use it anywhere that there is a USB-C port available.

A large IPS screen provides input metering, basic clocking source and sample rate information, as well as a large stepped knob for setting input gain and headphone/monitor output levels. The front panel is a little less extensive than that of the baby antelope tour, but still offers 2 XLR-1/4" combo mic and line inputs with long phantom hold, two 1/4" TRS balanced outputs and two RCA stereo outputs for monitoring.

The onboard processing is no slouch either, with 37 Synergy Core effects based on sought after vintage outboard equipment including compressors, EQs and preamps, guitar amps and cabs as well as a number of synthesizers and a signature reverb. All of these are powered by onboard DSP and FPGA chips to ensure effects processing without noticeable latency.
