Burris Speed Bead Review

If you’re in the market for a red dot optic, there’s a good chance you’ve come across Burris Optics’ Speed Bead system. It’s a mounting system designed to attach a FastFire series red dot to your shotgun without the need for drilling and tapping.

I tried out the aforementioned Speed Bead on a Benelli Super Black Eagle II 12-ga model, and the process went very smoothly. After removing the recoil pad and stock, I placed the device between the stock and receiver and tightened it in place.

One of the most impressive features of this device is its ability to provide a low-lying line of sight, just above the vented rib of your gun. The sight’s low profile makes it easy to see while shooting and may even help you hit your target a little better than usual.

Another cool feature of the Speed Bead is its reversible nature. That means you can take it out and use it on the way home if you’re going duck hunting, without having to permanently alter your shotgun.

Despite its many charms, the burris speed bead is not without its flaws. It’s not a perfect fit on every gun and isn’t compatible with all FastFires, but it’s still worth a look if you’re considering a new red dot system or are looking to add some extra firepower to your existing arsenal. Nevertheless, it’s certainly the most fun and effective red dot on the market today and you should be sure to get your hands on one.
