Can You Use AirPods on a Plane?

If you have the latest AirPods, you’re probably wondering if you can use them on a plane. The answer is yes, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, make sure your AirPods are fully charged before boarding. Then, enable Airplane Mode to disable cellular radio and turn on Bluetooth. This will help you avoid violating FAA regulations on the use of electronic devices during flight. Then, you’re free to enjoy your favorite tunes or podcasts without having to worry about the FAA or in-flight entertainment provider restricting your audio output.

The noise cancellation feature on AirPods can be a lifesaver for travelers. It can block out the engine humming, chattering passengers, and other ambient sounds to allow you to focus on your music or media content. However, it won’t block out every bit of noise so you’ll still be able to hear important in-flight announcements from the cabin crew.

Wireless earbuds and headphones are popular with travelers because they’re more comfortable than traditional headsets. They also eliminate the dangling wires that can get in the way of your neck or head during long flights. However, they come with their own drawbacks, especially on airplanes where many in-flight entertainment systems require a standard headphone jack to connect. To overcome this limitation, some travelers have opted to use a Bluetooth adapter with their AirPods. While this does work, it isn’t a seamless solution since you need to plug in the device, pair the adapter with your AirPods, and then connect the earbuds to the in-flight entertainment system.
