Chaco Z Ronin Review
Chaco Z/Ronin Review
The new Z/Ronin is a hybrid closed-toe design inspired by the organic sock and sandal trend. It combines the adjustable support and fit of the Chaco signature Z sport sandals with more toe protection, a breathable mesh upper and underfoot security through enhanced outsole traction.
For the first time, Chaco brings the support and fit of their signature sandals to the athleisure market. The Z/Ronin features the continuously adjustable strap of the classic Z sports sandals, with more toe protection and foot coverage through a wider rubber outsole. The upper is knit polyester with overlays to add structure and enhance the sock-like feel of the footwear, while still offering the breathability and comfort that has made Chaco's shoes a staple of outdoor communities worldwide.
This is a novel and unique approach for an outdoor lifestyle brand that has been in business since 2004. It's a smart move, because it takes advantage of the brand's technical and functional heritage to ensure that these shoes perform at their best on any trip or trail.
The sock-like upper is lightweight and breathable to keep your feet cool during long treks, and the sock cuff hugs your ankle for comfort that isn't compromised when you wear socks with these. The LUVSEAT footbed and EVR midsole are the same as in their popular Z-style sandals, while the outsole features 2.5 mm lugs that grip pavement or trail alike.
These shoes are currently on sale, and if you're interested in purchasing a pair, the Women's Z/Ronin in Spice are 62% off when you use code SALE35 at checkout. They're available in a full range of sizes (for now!), and you can find them in-stock at many of our favorite retailers.
