Choosing What Size TV For Dorm Room

Depending on what type of dorm you are going to be living in, some colleges/universities provide TVs for their students while others may not. If you are planning on bringing your own, it is important to decide what size of a TV is appropriate for your dorm room.

First of all, it is important to note that most dorm rooms are very small and the TV screen size can be quite limited. With this in mind, it is a good idea to start out with something fairly small such as a 32” TV. This will allow you to see the screen clearly without making it too large where it becomes hard to watch.

If you decide to step up to a slightly larger TV size such as a 40”, this can be a good option as well. This will give you enough space to be able to comfortably view the screen from 6 feet away (the average viewing distance for most people).

Another thing that is important to keep in mind when deciding what size TV to bring is the connection options. If you are planning on bringing a gaming console or DVD/blu ray player, it will be beneficial to have a TV with HDMI ports so that you can connect them easily.

There are also a number of good TVs that come with a built-in smart TV platform. These TVs can be great for dorms as they usually have a lot of apps available and are easy to use.
