About the Guitar
Chris Shiflett is a guy who rocks two worlds, with impeccable punk/hard rock credentials as lead guitarist for Foo Fighters and an authentic love for country (see: Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants). It's not surprising that he's rewarded us with a finely tuned Tele-style guitar, modeled after his favourite '72 Tele Deluxe. It's a kickass instrument that is sure to inspire your own rockin' adventures.
The chris shiflett telecaster may be the most expensive in this list, but it still comes in under a grand and offers plenty of bang for your buck. The guitar is made in Mexico, which is well known for delivering high-quality, low-cost products that are often a good choice for musicians on tight budgets.
It also boasts a lot of cool features that you'll be sure to appreciate. The aforementioned three-way switch is a major plus, while the neck pickup's "CS" humbucker is one of the most powerful in its price range.
It also has a very snazzy tremolo bridge that adds to the guitar's overall look and feel, and a nice thick neck to boot. For players who aren't used to a wide neck, this one might be a little daunting. However, it's easy to get accustomed to thanks to the built-in truss rod. The aforementioned three-way switch also allows you to get your pick on with ease, while the tremolo bridge's three knobs give you plenty of control over your tone.
