The college is committed to preparing students to offer the highest level of Dental Hygiene service. It provides an accelerated associate degree program that will take just 17 months to complete. The program also includes clinical training at various affiliated sites. Upon graduation students can work in private and public dental clinics.
The school has a close-knit community that nurtures each student’s individual career aspirations. The faculty has designed a curriculum that encompasses broad topics, and graduates are well-equipped to meet the challenges of real-world situations. Students can graduate in two years, and full-time options are available for those with other commitments.
Concorde Career Colleges offers a dental hygiene program at its Grand Prairie campus in Texas. This accelerated associate program will allow students to start working in this field after only eight months of full-time study. It will prepare graduates to sit for state and national licensing exams.
A dental assistant provides administrative and clinical support in a dentist’s office. This includes scheduling appointments, monitoring patient charts, taking x-rays and sterilizing equipment. A dental hygienist, on the other hand, cleans teeth and educates patients about their oral health.
The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and requires students to pass a criminal background check. The school will notify the state if a student fails to pass the background check, but the individual can request an informal hearing with DHCC’s executive officer or a formal appeals process with an administrative judge.
