Designed as the original equipment tire for luxury light truck/SUV touring vehicles including BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche models, the 4x4 contact all season light truck tire offers drivers a smooth comfortable ride on-road and slight off road with favourable traction and handling performance. The tire is built using a special tread compound and pattern that reduces noise levels while driving on dry pavement. The tread pattern also lowers noise emissions from the tire as sound waves are channelled through the tread grooves and cancelled out by the overlapping sipes.

The tread design and all season tread compound work together to provide excellent traction on dry pavement while the lateral and longitudinal tread grooves help protect against aquaplaning by dispersing water and snow from under the footprint. The tread sipes are computer optimized to improve traction in a range of weather conditions and the internal structure uses twin steel belts joined by spirally wound jointless nylon reinforcement that combines high-speed durability with ride uniformity.

Drivers appreciate the excellent on road handling of the 4x4 contact tires, with steering response and comfort while cruising or in town being praised. However, the all season tires do fall short in light snow and ice, where many drivers report poor results. Some also mention that the tread life doesn't last as long as expected.

The 4x4 contact comes with a limited warranty that includes one year of coverage for tire uniformity and the first 2/32 inch of wear, as well as a 6-year workmanship and materials warranty and 30-day customer satisfaction trial. The tires also carry the EU sanctioned 3PMSF marking indicating that the tire has been tested for winter use.
