The Dell Inspiron 17R (N7110) is a desktop replacement laptop that provides a solid CPU, GPU, and a variety of connection options. If you are looking for a multimedia laptop with a reasonable price, you might consider this one.

It is available in red and blue. The base model has an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor. Depending on your needs, you can choose from up to 640GB of SATA hard drive space. You can also upgrade your memory.

Despite its excellent battery life, this laptop is not particularly well-suited for gaming. However, it has a mid-range graphics card from Nvidia.

This laptop has an IPS display. While the screen is not particularly great, it does provide a decent amount of work space.

It has two USB 2.0 ports and a eSATA/USB 2.0 combo. There are also two speakers and a subwoofer. The touchpad is large and has a smooth feel.

A 1.0-megapixel HD webcam is included. If you want to connect to an external monitor, you can use the HDMI port.

It supports up to two 4GB memory modules. Unlike the XPS 15 or Samsung RC512-S02, this laptop does not support an i7 2670QM processor. That means you can't install an Intel HD 4000 video card.

One issue that I found was the left side of the touchpad. This area of the panel was prone to overheating. Fortunately, it cooled down during PC Mark Vantage, even when the system was under intense benchmarking.
