The BBC Shop at the BBC America booth #4129 will be bringing some exclusive Doctor Who merchandise to San Diego Comic-Con, including a Thirteenth Doctor Superbitz plush and a Bioworld TARDIS Puffy Keychain. There will also be a selection of t-shirts, hoodies and mugs, all designed specifically for the convention.
The Doctor Who panel is always one of the most anticipated events of Comic-Con weekend. This year is no exception as it introduces the Thirteenth Doctor, Jodie Whittaker, marking a new era for the Time Lord. She will be joined on the panel by her co-stars Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, who play Ryan and Yasmin, as well as series showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens.
Countess Scarlioni, aka Catherine Tate, will be making her rare Comic-Con appearance this year. She starred in the 1979 Doctor Who story City of Death with Tom Baker and Lalla Ward. She has also appeared in the X-Files, Twin Peaks and The Munsters.
Author John Peel will be attending the event and signing his book, The Orbital Spheres. He is best known for writing the TV tie-in novels and novelizations of Doctor Who, Star Trek, The Avengers and James Bond. He is also the author of several Big Finish audio plays based on the Terry Nation Daleks, and has worked on the Doctor Who video game Fury From The Deep.
Those looking to get an autograph from the Countess can meet her on Friday or Saturday at the convention. Alternatively, fans can catch her in the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once More With Feeling, which will air on November 8 on Sundance Now.
