The Droid Depot is a fun experience that allows you to build a droid and then take it around Black Spire Outpost. It’s a cool way to see your new friend interact with the other droids and characters of the park. The experience is a bit pricey ($99 per droid) but it’s still a fun activity for the kids (and adults!).
The experience is located inside a shop that’s modeled after a real Star Wars factory. The walls are dirtied red and there are inactive droids and scrap parts everywhere. Once you check in, you’re directed to a station that’s positioned on a conveyor belt. You pick up the different droid pieces that are passing by and keep them in your basket. There are instructions and graphics at each station to help you pick up the right parts. The cool thing is that all of the droid parts come in a variety of colors so you can mix and match to your heart’s desire.
Once you have all of the parts, you head to a building station and follow the instructions on the placemat to construct your droid. Once you’ve finished constructing your droid, it’s time to activate it. A staff member will put your droid in a special spot and then you push the activation button. Your droid will then spring to life and start interacting with the other droids in Black Spire Outpost.
Whether you’re an aspiring droid engineer or just a fan of the movies, droid depot is a fun and interactive experience that should be on everyone’s Galaxy’s Edge bucket list. And if you’re planning to make your own droid, be sure to read our Droid Depot Tips and Tricks article for some helpful tips!
