The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Allergy is a powerful canister vacuum known for its customer satisfaction and impressive cleaning performance. It’s expensive compared to other canister vacuums and the attachments have to be stored separately, but it offers high suction and excellent customer service that may be worth the extra cost for some homeowners. If you don’t need all the bells and whistles of this model, consider a less expensive vacuum from dyson such as the V6 or V7.
This canister vacuum uses Dyson’s famous ball technology to maneuver effortlessly on all types of floors and never hangs up on obstacles. It also has the tools that homes with pets need such as a motorized brush and carbon fiber soft dusting brush. In our cleaning tests it picked up dirt, dust and pet hair from carpets as well as bare floor surfaces with ease. It didn’t quite make the cut in our edging and surface transitions test, but it was close.
We did wonder if this canister could deliver on its claim to never lose suction, but we were impressed that it didn’t. We’ve heard similar claims from other vacuum manufacturers in the past, but Dyson appears to have made a significant improvement in filter design that should eliminate the loss of suction that other canisters experience with dirty filters.
The only negative with this canister vacuum is that it’s easy to fill above the Max Fill line, which can lead to clogging and loss of suction. Dyson does provide a solution to this issue by having a convenient access panel on the side of the cleaner head that can be turned with a coin (to release the bristles) and a clear bin that shows when it’s filled to the Max line.
