Glock is probably one of the most popular handguns around, it’s a very reliable and accurate weapon for CQB and close range firefights. So when Elite Force released their glock 17 air pistol we were very excited to put it to the test. The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 is a very close replica of the real steel firearm, it looks the part and feels the part as well.
It has a reinforced polymer frame and a metal slide with all the trademarks of a real Glock. It uses a 12 gram CO2 cylinder housed in the grip to shoot BBs at a rate of 365 feet per second. It also accepts standard Glock accessories like lights, lasers and holsters (not included).
The trigger is very responsive and the safety works exactly as it should. The mag release is also very similar to the real thing and the gun feels solid in the hand. It’s easy to strip and maintain with twin takedown latches on either side of the frame, it takes a little bit of work to remove the recoil spring but once that is done internals are easily accessible to clean and lubricate.
It doesn’t have the same mag compatibility as a Tokyo Marui Glock due to proprietary components but it does use a fairly common size magazine so there are plenty of 3rd party options available. It’s a fantastic looking pistol with great accuracy and the best part is that it’s super affordable. If you’re thinking about getting a real Glock this is the perfect way to try it out without breaking the bank.
