A bit elusive in the market place at this time due to high secondary markups by everyone. This is a great bourbon that has a rich flavor profile with sweet traditional bourbon hints and moderate heat. A very smooth sipper that a good choice for mixing cocktails.

Named after Buffalo Trace’s Master Distiller Emeritus, Elmer T. Lee, this single barrel is a testament to his work and dedication to the bourbon industry. This bourbon was carefully selected by the Master Distiller himself and is aged to his exact specifications.

This bourbon is bottled at a very strong proof of ninety. It’s a great bourbon to have at home and share with friends. The nose is a bit muted and light with subtle aromas of caramel, corn, and apricot. As you swirl the glass a bit, more complex scents rise to the surface including thicker caramel and a little darker notes along with some lightly roasted marshmallows and licorice/fennel.

The taste is medium in body and offers a rich and balanced flavor profile with intense fruit, honey, vanilla, and a light spiciness that shows off the distillers craft. The finish is long and warm. The bourbon is light gold in color with a nice heft to the bottle and golden sealing wax. The design is a bit different from other Buffalo Trace bourbons with a square shaped bottle and rounded edges along with concave medallion type impressions on the side that make it easy to hold and pour.
