first lite kanab 20 review

The Kanab men’s pants are First Lite’s best-selling merino wool hunting pants. The breathable, lightweight wool is soft and quiet, allowing you to move comfortably in any conditions. The merino wool also resists odor and doesn’t retain scent, making this garment ideal for backcountry hunts.

The merino wool is paired with a body-mapped stretch nylon, which allows for increased mobility and durability. The 37.5 Cocona technology works with the merino to pull moisture from the inside of your clothing and release it to the outside, so you’re not sweating in your gear. The nylon also features a DWR, so rain and snow will roll right off.

For added flexibility, the kanab 2.0 offers interior buttons that allow you to roll up the legs. This feature transforms these backcountry pants into a comfortable, lightweight pair of shorts. The lightweight construction means the pants are easy to carry in a pack, and they’re also machine washable. The merino is naturally odor-resistant, so you won’t need to worry about unpleasant stench after long days in the field.

First Lite was one of the first companies to bring merino wool into the hunting world and they’ve done a fantastic job with their products. However, the price tag on their kanab 2.0’s is quite high, especially when you consider that other brands like Kuiu offer competitive products for less. I think that First Lite needs to consider bringing the price of their kanab down so more hunters can afford them.
