focusrite isa one review

The Focusrite isa one is a very impressive audio interface that looks to be the best in its price range. It is easy to set up and use with the included Focusrite Control software and it works great with a variety of popular platforms including Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Live and many others.

There are a number of features that make the isa one very interesting, for example the ability to change the input impedance of the preamps, which allows you to tailor it to any microphone. This gives you a great deal of flexibility and is something that other interfaces in this price range do not offer.

A big feature of this audio interface is its monitoring section, which has two headphone outputs. This can be fed from the main input or from an external stereo cue mix that can be applied via the rear TRS jack inputs. In addition, there is a switch that allows you to select between mono or stereo summing of the two inputs which can be handy for zero-latency monitoring during recording.

All of this is packed into a very rugged and portable unit. The front panel has a large metering section and the main input has a nice red LED input meter on it. The back has XLR inputs for the mic and line inputs, as well as balanced TRS jacks for insert send and return and the left and right cue mix outputs.
