After delivering several hit movies director Siddique is back with another movie that is sure to entertain audiences. The film titled Fukri has Jayasurya in the lead role. The movie is a romantic comedy entertainer that focuses on a very rich and elite family with generations of royal ancestry. The story revolves around Lukeman aka Lucky who is a mechanical engineering drop out and a fraudster. He courts trouble easily with his group of muddleheaded friends and also helps others in a cloak and dagger manner. Eventually, Lucky gets into the business of an aristocratic Muslim family. How he solves all the misunderstandings and reunites the family forms the crux of the story.
Jayasurya has performed well in the role as the infamous fraudster Lucky. He fits into the role perfectly and delivers a few bone-tickling moments. But he is not at his best when it comes to emotional sequences. The film also has Prayaga Rose Martin, Anu Sithara and Lal in pivotal roles. They all have done their part well. Joju George stands out among them all with his one-liners. The cinematography by Vijay Ulakanath is exceptional especially the song sequences.
'Fukri' is a good-hearted movie that has enough comical scenes and performances to entertain the audience for two hours. But it misses the mark at places as the screenplay is a little too predictable and messy. It also lacks a certain depth in some of the characters. But the comedy sequences and notable performances of few actors make it watchable.
