guild wars 2 peer review

We’re getting closer to the end of Guild Wars 2’s third expansion, and in a new blog post, ArenaNet outlines what will be next for the game. There’s a lot to take in, from the return of the game’s Living World season to a new map in the Cantha region and the confirmation that a fourth expansion is coming.

Unlike most MMOs, Guild Wars 2 doesn’t feature power creep that drives up character level and equipment quality over time; at the high end of the gameplay spectrum, players participate in similar scenarios with roughly identical characters and gear. They have different abilities, but their performance is largely determined by in-game proficiency, class mastery and experience, encounter knowledge, group composition and strategy. As such, a player’s in-game performance is easily comparable to that of others, making the game an ideal candidate for comparative analysis of player data.
