Hesco l210 review is a stand alone plate that is designed to be worn where concealability matters and light rifle threat protection is a priority. It is a great option for those looking for an affordable level III plate that can defeat most light AP rifle rounds.
Hesco plates are NIJ certified to a minimum of Level 4 and they go through a process known as NIJ FIT (Functional Integrated Testing). Hesco is a ISO 9001:2015 company and their NIJ certification requires that they only have one plate model fail shoot testing every two years. When a plate fails the NIJ tests it is made public and Hesco does a root cause analysis with NIJ to see if they can make any improvements to the design of that plate. If they can and the plate passes the re-test then it is approved for re-FIT and put back on the market.
The Hesco L210 is a single curve plate that is rated up to 7.62x39 API. It has a Shooter’s Cut that allows for more maneuverability than a SAPI cut plate. It weighs 5.4 lbs per plate and is 0.59 inches thick. It is a lightweight and low profile plate that will work well in a low vis or concealable carrier.
If you’re planning on adding these plates to a ballistic backer in a BALCS type setup or into a IIIa/III+ vest and you want higher threat protection, we recommend checking out our selection of Multi/Tri-Curve Hesco plates. They have the same NIJ level rating but they are much more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time and they offer more coverage for the same price as these L210s.
