Hoka Hupana Flow Review

The hupana flow is a versatile road running shoe that is also suitable for workout classes and other fitness-focused activities. Like many shoes in the Hoka range it uses rubberized foam throughout the sole to provide cushioning and support, while still feeling light and responsive on foot.

The upper is crafted from an Engineered knit material that delivers structure to the shoe while offering a soft and comfortable fit. Combined with the padded ankle collar and tongue the upper is able to cradle the foot comfortably without causing any chafing or friction.

Our testers were impressed by the hupana flow's responsive midsole and quick rebound; both made for an energetic, fun run that kept them feeling fast and confident. The cushioning is moderate and feels a bit firmer than classic Hokas, which can be a welcome change for some runners who prefer a more responsive ride. This is particularly evident when comparing the hupana to another recent Hoka release, the Freedom ISO, which is much softer and offers more of a pillowy feel underfoot.

Durability has not been an issue with the hupana, though some testers experienced early wear in the heel area. Despite this the overall construction is robust and the shoe is a good choice for regular road use or even occasional off-road trail runs.
