How Big is Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy is a huge game, but how long it takes to beat will depend on how much you explore and take in, as well as whether or not you’re going for 100% completion and the Platinum trophy. However, most players can expect to play the game for a minimum of 30 hours.

The game is set a century prior to the events of the Harry Potter series, and is developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games through its Portkey Games label. It features an action role-playing gameplay experience that takes place in the Wizarding World, with quirky characters, tense combat and a vast amount of collectibles.

How Big is the Map in Hogwarts Legacy?

The map in Hogwarts Legacy is 2.95 square miles, which may seem small in comparison to some of the more expansive maps in recent RPGs such as Skyrim and the Assassin’s Creed games. However, it makes up for this in its sheer density, with villages and camps packed to the brim with activities and a tightly-knit expanse that fleshes out the overall experience even further.

Moreover, each of the game’s regions is fully explorable as soon as it is unlocked. In fact, some sections, such as the Coastal Cavern, require you to dismount your broom and engage in a more traditional dungeon-crawling experience. Considering there are so many one-of-a-kind items to discover, and that the Hogwarts Legacy’s map is constantly changing and expanding with fantastic beast uprisings and goblin uprisings, it’s no wonder that the game can easily take more than 40 hours to complete.
