How Did Thor Get His Eye Back?

At the end of 'Thor: Ragnarok,' the God of Thunder lost his right eye when Hela, Goddess of Death and his sister, slashed it during their climactic battle. It was a significant loss that made him look more like his father, Odin, who died in the film. It also made Thor wear an eye patch for the rest of the movie and into Avengers: Infinity War.

However, in 'Thor: Love and Thunder,' he is seen without an eye patch. How did he get his eye back?

During the course of 'Thor: Love and Thunder,' Thor is picked up by the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket Raccoon, who has a habit of stealing people's prosthetic eyes (it's his running gag in the MCU), happens to have one on him and hands it to Thor. He then casually pops it in, despite Rocket's warning that he should probably wash it first.

In the MCU, we have to take a little creative liberty in blending comic book, mythological, and original elements into our characters' arcs. Hence, while there's nothing in Norse mythology that indicates how Thor would lose an eye, the filmmakers decided to use it as a symbolic point of transformation for him. Plus, it added to the character's lore and made him more unique in the MCU. It also allowed for new merchandise opportunities and gave fans a fresh way to look at their favorite MCU hero. And it was a pretty cool visual, too!
