If someone you follow is annoying, and you want them to be silent on TikTok without removing them from your feed or confronting them with the issue, you can mute them. This is an option offered by many social media platforms, and it works similarly to blocking a person, except you do not see their messages or comments on your own account.
In order to mute someone on tiktok, you must first find the person's profile and tap on it. On the next screen, you will see three options - report, block, and mute. If you select the mute option, this will immediately remove all previous comments from the person's account and their future comments will be muted until the duration of the muting ends.
Unlike normal videos, live TikTok videos have the ability to include added sound. Adding this additional audio can allow viewers to amplify certain parts of the video or can provide them with background noise for conversation. If you do not want to hear any of the added audio, you can mute it by dragging the Original and Added sound sliders down until they both reach zero.
