One of the best features of AirPods is the ability to have Siri read incoming notifications and announce calls, which makes it easier to keep your hands free while using your phone. While it’s an extremely convenient feature, there may be times when you would prefer not to have your notifications read out loud while listening to music or podcasts. If you want to disable announcements on your airpods, there are a few ways to do so.

The first way to turn off announcements on your airpods is by adjusting the settings on your iPhone. To do this, open the Settings app on your device and navigate to Notifications. Next, locate the Announce Notifications toggle and slide it to the off position. This will prevent Siri from reading any incoming messages aloud while your AirPods are connected, and it will also stop this setting from working when you use CarPlay.

Another option is to change the notification settings on your iOS device to exclude specific apps from announcing their notifications. This is done by going to the Notifications settings on your device and scrolling down to find the ’Announce Notifications from’ section. Once you’re in this section, select the app from which you want to disable announcements.

Lastly, you can also disable announcements on your airpods by adding a custom button to your Control Center. This can be done by opening the Control Center and swiping down from the top of your screen (or up from the bottom for iPhones with a Home button) to access the menu. From here, you can move the Announce Notifications icon to the very bottom of the list to make it easy to access whenever you want to turn off announcements on your airpods.
