How Fast Can Spider Man Run?
Spider-Man is one of the fastest heroes in the Marvel universe, able to move faster than most human beings at the peak of their physical fitness. He has also demonstrated the ability to jump incredibly high, able to leap as high as a skyscraper or the length of a city block at once, similar to how jumping spiders are capable of doing. Despite this, many people have wondered how fast Spider-Man really is when he’s not using his web-slinging skills.
In comics, the answer is that he can run up to about 35 mph. This is faster than Usain Bolt at a dead sprint and enough to easily outrun most cars on the highway. He can run even faster when he’s enraged or is wearing his suit of iron, though he prefers to use his webswinging and agility instead of running.
He has been known to outrun a bullet and even supersonic energy blasts from time to time, but not at their peak speeds. However, his Spidey-Sense allows him to react to and move out of the way of such attacks before they hit, so that he can essentially dodge them rather than simply reacting after they’ve already begun their movement.
Combined with his reaction speed, Spider-Man has been shown to be almost as fast as the superheroes Thor and Captain America in some instances. In the MCU, Thor generally travels at the speed of sound (roughly 767 miles per hour) while Cap has been clocked at over 1440 mph in short bursts.
