Whether you're web-slinging or running about the streets of Manhattan in Insomniac's Spider-Man PS4, speed is a major part of the hero's arsenal. He's definitely not as fast as DC's Flash or Superman, but he's no slouch when it comes to pure running and movement.

But how fast can spiderman run? There are a lot of factors to consider, including his Spider-Sense which allows him to react quickly to threats, his suit which is designed to be lightweight and allow for maximum flexibility, and of course, his pure running ability.

One of the more popular numbers floating around is that he can cover 2.5 miles in five seconds, but that's definitely not true. That number comes from a panel where Peter Parker hops over buildings to chase down robbers, but that's not really running, it's more like moving as a pendulum. The average cheetah weighs about 46-160 pounds, so if you assume Peter's roughly that weight, then he can move at least 70mph.

However, if you want to get close to that kind of speed in the game, there are some tricks you can try out. The first is to make sure you're swinging properly, releasing the R2 button when your momentum is lowest will conserve your forward velocity. The other trick is to let go of the jump button as soon as you're closest to the ground, this will give you a more explosive leap. You can also use the 'R' button to sprint, which is great for speeding up during chases or battles.
