One Wheel has grown in popularity over the past few years. It’s a self-balancing, single wheel electric skateboard that you control by leaning your body. The board has two sensors on the back of the deck. When you step on the board with your trailing foot, the sensors engage and start to take control. As you lean the board moves forward, turning and carving - just like a traditional skateboard or snowboard.
The board can go up to 20 mph on a regular basis and riders usually ride at much higher speeds (but it’s at your own risk). You can also take it off-road and ride on rocks, gravel, dirt, and sand.
How heavy is a one wheel?
The OneWheel Pint weighs 23 lb, and the XR is a little heavier at 27 lb. The XR is also longer and has more battery power for greater range. The weight of the one wheel depends on a lot of things including: battery, riding style, terrain incline, and current digital shaping settings. It also depends on how much you use it and the condition of your body. If you ride a lot, the board will feel heavier than if you just ride occasionally.
