If you want to improve your chess skills, you need to practice daily. The more you practice, the better you will get. You can practice playing against a computer or another human. This will help you learn more about how the pieces move and the strategy behind each position. It also helps to train your calculation and spatial vision.

It is impossible to know how long it will take you to learn how to play chess. There are a lot of variables that will affect the time it takes to become good at chess, such as the age you start and your dedication to the game. However, if you have the drive to improve and work hard at it, you can reach an advanced level of chess within a few years.

Children between 11-12 years old are considered the best age for learning chess. This is because they have the ability to understand abstract concepts, scientific-logical reasoning, and have a remarkable capability to calculate. This is why they can make a great progress in the game of chess and acquire the necessary skills to become a champion.

Adults who have normal jobs should expect to spend around eight to ten years before reaching ratings that are deemed good by the general population. The more you study and practice, the faster you will grow. However, it is important not to push yourself too hard as chess can be mentally exhausting. You should aim to study for no more than 1-2 hours per day at the peak of your concentration.
