From the Co-Creator of Rick and Morty

If you’re a fan of the Adult Swim hit show Rick and Morty, or even just a big fan of Roiland’s humor, then you’ll want to check out High on Life. This first-person shooter from Squanch Games and Justin Roiland pits you against an alien cartel that plans on using humans as drugs. This wacky b-movie-inspired adventure is like one massive episode of Rick and Morty, with plenty of slapstick jokes, gross-outs, and crass humor to enjoy.

While the comedy in High on Life may grate on some, it worked for me, and I’m a big fan of Roiland’s off-the-wall humor and style. That said, if you can’t stomach cursing and shock humor then I’d recommend skipping this galactic sci-fi adventure.

How long is high on life?

The game’s story isn’t too lengthy, and the main quest can be completed in around ten hours. However, if you’re a completionist and want to see everything the game has to offer, then it could take up to 25 hours to complete High on Life in its entirety.

The gameplay is similar to that of a Metroid Prime-style game, with a mix of exploration and fast-paced combat. The controls work well, and the art style is creatively wacky and fits the tone of the game perfectly. There were a few framerate dips when the action got hectic, but they weren’t enough to detract from my enjoyment of the title.
