How Old Is Pim Smiling Friends
Smiling Friends is an animated comedy series created by Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel and airing on Adult Swim. It follows the misadventures of two employees working for a company that aims to spread happiness. The main characters, cynical Charlie and cheerful Pim, work to help people who call their company's hotline with their problems. This is easier said than done, however, as many of the issues their clients face are incredibly complicated.
At the office of Smiling Friends, Pim and Charlie are watching a television show that consists of a bizarre-looking character dancing against a black background. Charlie is annoyed by the show, but Pim argues that it's about to get good and that they should stick around for it.
The pair then attend a house party, where Pim attempts to make a new friend for Desmond by saying that one of the great things about life is making friends. He is reluctant, but eventually agrees to the idea and heads over to meet a woman named Jennifer. Pim is immediately infatuated with her and begins to dream of a future together in which they marry, have children, and watch their grandchildren grow up and have their own families.
Later, Pim and Charlie are at Daveland with Desmond, who has an existential crisis and tells them that his family hates him, his dog died from a broken heart, and that he is planning to kill himself. Pim tries to cheer him up by reminding him that even though things are bad sometimes, they will get better and that he should be glad that he has his family.
