steve lacy is an American singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer who came to fame as the guitarist of alternative R&B band The Internet. He has also co-written and produced songs for artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, Solange Knowles, Vampire Weekend, and Kali Uchis.

Lacy is known for his alternative R&B and soul music that is infused with pop and funk. He started producing music from a young age, creating beats on his iPhone using the Garage Band digital audio workstation software and an iRig plug-in solution. He was introduced to the band The Internet by Jameel Bruner and became more serious about his production when he joined the group.
