Apple’s popular wearable device, the Apple Watch, is capable of doing lots of things—from tracking your daily workouts to letting you pay for stuff using Apple Pay. It can also help keep you on schedule, send and receive texts, and provide notifications from your favorite apps. But like any sophisticated technology, it’s not immune to bugs and glitches, which can be frustrating and distracting at the same time.
One of these frustrations comes from receiving unwanted calls and messages. Thankfully, the Apple Watch offers a few ways to block calls and text messages on your wrist without having to use your phone. Here are some of the most important things you should know about how to block a number on your apple watch.
If a friend has been blocked on your iPhone, it will also be blocked on your Apple Watch, and you won’t receive any calls or messages from them. You can check if this is the case by opening your Apple Watch app on your iPhone and going to Friends. If you see a red badge next to a name, they have been blocked.
To unblock a contact, simply tap the contact or name and select Unblock. You can also do this through the Settings app on your iPhone by tapping Blocked contacts and selecting a contact. This is a great feature to have if you want to avoid spam phone calls and messages. This is especially helpful if you have children or elderly parents who can get bombarded with annoying phone and message notifications from people that aren’t saved in their contacts list.
