When you get a call or text message on your apple watch, you can either choose to view it or clear it. If you choose to view it, the person will still be able to see your activity, but you won’t have the option to compete or respond to a challenge. This is an ideal solution for people who are bothered by their friends competing with them in activities, such as running or swimming.
If you want to completely stop sharing your activity with a particular person, you can remove them as an Apple Watch friend by opening the app and tapping on their name. However, you’ll have to wait for them to accept or reject your invitation before they can use the Apple Watch again.
Another useful feature is the ability to block numbers and contacts from calling, iMessage, or FaceTime. The feature works by mirroring your iPhone settings, so you can block a number or contact on your phone and it will also be blocked on your watch.
This is an excellent way to block spam calls from telemarketers, cold callers, or other organizations looking for new customers. It’s also handy if you have children who use the Apple Watch and don’t want them to receive calls from strangers.
To block a contact or number, open a conversation in Messages, tap the person’s name or number at the top of the screen, then tap Info. On Mac, you can add a contact to the Block list using System Preferences.
