Sometimes things change, and you need to cancel your Lyft ride. It might be that you have to leave your house a little later than planned, or that an interview or appointment got postponed. Whatever the reason, it's good to know how to do this quickly.
To cancel a lyft ride you need to first open the app and log in. Then, you need to tap on the 3 horizontal lines aka hamburger icon and then select help from the menu. Once you click on the help option you should see a number of options that will allow you to get in touch with Lyft's support team.
You can also cancel a scheduled ride from the calendar icon in your app. You can find this in the top right of the screen, and it will bring up all your scheduled rides. If you want to cancel a scheduled ride just tap on the X mark above the ride that you wish to cancel. You can do this for up to 7 days in advance.
However, you must cancel your scheduled ride within the cancellation window that Lyft provides. If you cancel a ride after this window, you may be charged a cancellation fee to compensate the driver for their time and effort. So be sure to follow these simple steps to cancel your ride and avoid any charges that you don't need to pay. You can always contact Lyft's customer support if you think that you were wrongly charged. They should be able to help you out and reverse the charge if needed.
