Changing slide size in powerpoint can help ensure your presentation is visible and readable on the devices or screens your audience uses. It can also make your presentations look more professional and appealing. However, it’s important to note that changing your slide size can impact the overall layout and design of your slides, particularly if you have images or graphics that are sized specifically for their original slide dimensions.

To change the size of your PowerPoint slides, open an existing presentation or create a new one and click the “Design” tab. Then select the “Slide Size” button and choose your desired option from the drop-down menu.

The standard slide size in PowerPoint is widescreen (16:9), which matches the size and proportions of most modern screens. However, you can also select a custom slide size (either in pixels or centimeters).

You can also choose whether to resize your content to fit the new selected slide size or to preserve its original size. The former option may result in your content appearing pixelated or blurry if you’re using high-resolution images. The latter option, meanwhile, reduces the size of your content to fit the new slide size without cropping it.

You can also select the option to keep the source formatting when you change the slide size if you want to ensure that your original font and background color remain unchanged. However, this option is only available on Windows and macOS. It’s not available on the mobile version of PowerPoint for iOS or Android.
