Once you've signed up for Cox Internet and received your WiFi gateway, or are an existing customer who needs to change the router name or password, there are a few straightforward steps you can follow to do this. Alternatively, call Cox's help line if additional assistance is required - making your network as secure as possible to protect any unwarranted access to sensitive information is of utmost importance!

To connect your device to Cox internet service via an Ethernet cable and open a web browser on it. Type your router's IP address into the search bar of your web browser; once redirected to its login page, use either its default administrator credentials outlined on its body or those provided by Cox as part of your service documentation.

Once logged in, you'll be taken directly to the "Edit Wireless Settings" page where you can make changes to your Cox SSID and password before clicking Apply Changes and disconnecting and reconnecting devices when completed.

Cox Panoramic Web Portal and app provide another simple method for changing WiFi password and SSID settings, just enter the default access credentials (printed on your router itself or provided in documentation) into the popup window to get started.

Once logged in, you'll see a list of your network devices and the connections attached to them. By clicking any one, you can edit any one - for instance changing WiFi password if compromised or creating new one for more secure environment - making sure it contains letters, numbers and symbols for greater protection. Using password manager may make managing and changing them simpler as well as keeping track of them over time.
