Apple Wallet (formerly Passbook) is an app that keeps your credit cards, rewards cards, and boarding passes all in one place. It also lets you store and redeem your Apple Pay balances in-app, and it even collects receipt and delivery tracking data for select purchases. In addition to its payments features, Wallet has become an increasingly useful tool for holding digital versions of coupons, restaurant and retail store loyalty cards, home keys, student ID cards, government ID cards, and more.

To access Wallet, double-press the iPhone’s side button; the phone then asks you to authenticate yourself using Face ID or Touch ID, keeping strangers from unauthorizedly using your credit cards. Apple Wallet is also integrated with the lock screen, so you can launch it by tapping on your lock icon or entering your passcode when making a purchase.

You can delete any card from Apple Wallet by going to Settings and selecting Wallet & Apple Pay, then tapping on the card you want to remove. You can also remove a payment method from a device by removing the passcode, turning off Touch ID or Face ID on the device, signing out of iCloud, or calling your card issuer.

If you’re unable to delete a card from Apple Wallet, it likely means that there are active subscriptions billed to that card and that you need to either close those subscriptions or add a new payment method before trying again. If you’re unsure of how to do this, see the following articles for instructions.
