Legendary Pokemon can be a little tricky to obtain in Pokemon Go. They’re not normally available in the wild or through eggs and are often tied to specific events or Special Research. This is especially true for Gen 7 legendaries like Solgaleo and Lunala, who are only available through the Astral Eclipse and Solstice Horizons events in Pokemon Go. During these events, players can catch Cosmog, the first stage of Solgaleo and Lunala’s evolutions. However, there’s a special requirement that must be fulfilled to evolve Cosmog into either of its two final forms.
How to Evolve Cosmog Pokemon Go
In order to evolve Cosmog into either Solgaleo or Lunala, trainers must complete the Cosmic Companion Special Research quest in Pokemon Go. This is a four-part research task that will see players travelling around the Alola region, catching different types of Pokemon and completing various tasks. It’s important to note that the final step of the research – evolving Cosmog – requires 25 candy, which is easy enough for most trainers to accrue through catching multiple Pokemon and using items like Pinap Berries.
Once players have the required amount of candy, they must decide whether to evolve Cosmog into Solgaleo during the day or Lunala at night. To do so, they must click on the appropriate button next to the name of the Pokemon. However, some players have reported issues with clicking on the evolve button, which can be caused by a number of things. If the evolve button does not appear, players can try closing and reopening their app to resolve the issue.
