The latest season in Pokemon GO has seen players have the chance to encounter a special Legendary Pokemon called Cosmog. These Cosmog Pokemon can be evolved into either Solgaleo or Lunala, but players will need to have a certain amount of candy in order for the evolution to take place. This candy can be difficult to come by and gaining enough of it to evolve your Cosmog into one of its two legendary forms will require patience and some luck, especially since the time of day you perform this evolution plays a big role in the outcome.
Fortunately, Niantic has updated the in-game Special Research Tab to continue the Cosmog questline -- which should give players a new step they can complete with their Cosmog. By completing this step, players will get 25 Cosmog Candy that can be used to evolve the Pokemon into its first form, Cosmoem. After the player reaches level 43, they can then use 100 more Cosmog Candy to evolve Cosmoem into either Solgaleo or Lunala.
If the player chooses to evolve into Solgaleo, they'll gain a powerful Psychic/Steel-type Pokemon. This Pokemon will have a quadruple resistance to Poison-type moves, making it ideal for players who face a lot of poison damage in the field. Alternatively, the player can choose to evolve Cosmoem into Lunala to acquire a powerful lion-type Pokemon with full immunity to all four move types. Both of these Pokemon are strong options in the battlefield, so the choice will come down to the player's personal preference.
