How to Factory Reset a Lenovo Laptop

Whether you’re donating your laptop, trying to fix nagging issues, or just want a clean slate, factory resetting your Lenovo can help. This process will remove all of your personal files, apps, and settings to return the computer to its original state. Before you begin, it’s important to make sure your laptop is fully charged or plugged in to a power source.

If your laptop has a Novo button, you can use it to access the system recovery options and restore the computer to its original factory settings. To do this, shut down the laptop, then connect a power source to the Lenovo device and press the Novo button for five seconds. The button is typically located on the right or left side of the laptop or at the top of the keyboard next to the power button.

Once the Novo button menu appears, use the arrow keys to select System Recovery and then press Enter. You’ll then be able to choose whether you want to restore your system from an initial backup or start from scratch.

If your Lenovo doesn’t have a Novo button or you’ve already used it to perform a system recovery, you can still reset the computer to its original factory settings using the Windows Recovery Environment. To do this, follow the steps below:
