Twitter is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, but it can also be used to network for business. It is important to make the most of your twitter presence and one of the ways to do this is to find contacts on twitter that are similar to you. This can be done by using the search function or by looking at who your followers are following.
To use the search function on your phone, tap on the magnifying glass icon on the bottom of the screen or on the upper left corner on a computer. Type a real name or username into the search box and Twitter will display results based on your location, who you follow, your interests and other factors.
You can also locate people you know on Twitter by syncing your contact list with the app. To do this, open the Twitter app on your phone and tap 'Settings & support' or 'Tweetdeck settings', then tap 'discoverability and contacts.' From here, you can toggle on the 'Sync address book contacts' option and then confirm your decision when prompted. After syncing, Twitter will scan your contact list and identify any accounts associated with email addresses or phone numbers. Once Twitter recognizes the accounts, they will appear in the 'people to follow' section of your Twitter home page.
If you decide that syncing your contacts is not for you, you can easily remove them from the app on your phone or the website on a computer. Open the Twitter app and select 'profile' then 'Settings & privacy' or 'Discoverability and contacts.' From here, click 'Manage contacts' to see a list of all the uploaded contacts and where they are from. You can remove them by clicking 'Remove all' or you can delete each contact individually.
