Eevee is a special Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, thanks to the fact that it can evolve into eight different forms called “Eeveelutions.” These can be obtained using a variety of methods. In previous generations, you could only get Glaceon and Leafeon by traveling to certain locations, but Sword and Shield make it much easier to evolve your Eevee into a Glaceon or Leafeon. You can also use the same method to obtain the other Eeveelutions, including Espeon and Umbreon.

If you want to get a free Eevee and one of the other seven Eeveelutions in Sword and Shield, then you can do so by visiting the first wild area that you visit in the game. This will happen within the first few hours of the game, after your train ride to Motostoke is forced to stop due to a herd of wild Wooloo on the tracks.

After you’ve travelled to the first Wild Area, go to the corner of the train station where a woman waits. She will offer you an Eevee that can evolve into a Gigantamax Eevee. You can then head back to the Wild Area and see a small strip of land next to the Lake of Outrage, where there’s a ring of stones around an Eevee’s den. A new Eeveelution appears at this location each day, based on the weather.

For example, Jolteon will appear when it’s sunny and dry, Flareon will appear during thunderstorms, Vaporeon will show up during rain, and Glaceon will appear when there is snow or a blizzard.
