There’s a lot of NSFW stuff on twitter, from twerking videos to full-on orgies. It’s one of the very few major mainstream social media platforms that doesn’t ban good stuff like this like everyone else, and a lot of pornography industry accounts and adult-content enthusiasts take advantage of it.
But the platform does have some limits to protect users from inappropriate content. For instance, tweets containing nude or violent images and videos are marked as sensitive, which prevents them from showing up in searches and Twitter’s main For You feed. This feature can be enabled on a mobile device by going to the Settings and Privacy menu, tapping More, then selecting “Settings and privacy”.
You can also mark your Twitter account as sensitive from the app by uploading an image or video and then selecting three dots on the upper right side of the screen. Click the flag icon and select “Mark this media as containing sensitive content”. This will prevent your media from appearing in searches or on the Twitter For You feed.
However, if you want to continue using Twitter, you’ll have to disable this feature because tweets with nude or violent content are automatically excluded from the For You feed. You can still post your NSFW stuff in private conversations with friends and followers — but you will have to use the hashtag #nsfw when posting it. This way, it’s easy to identify which tweets contain naughty content and avoid them if necessary.
