How to Find Sinistea in Pokemon Violet

Sinistea, the new F tier Ghost Type Black Tea Pokemon found in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, is incredibly hard to find. This is largely due to the fact that you have to defeat 10 of these little teacups in order to obtain Malicious Armor, which is needed in order to evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge. Luckily, there are a few tricks to help you locate Sinistea quickly in Pokemon Violet.

First, you'll want to know whether or not you're dealing with an Antique or Phony Sinistea. While there's no difference stat-wise between the two forms, a Sinistea in its Antique form will have a blue stamp at the bottom of its teacup, while a Phony Sinistea will not. Checking a Sinistea's form can be done by walking up to it and using the auto battle feature to inspect it.

The next step is determining what form it is, as this will affect how many Sinistea Chips you'll need. Defeating a wild Sinistea will usually drop one or two Sinistea Chips, but you can also find them by visiting the man in Zapapico that will trade Malicious Armor for 10 Sinistea Chips. After that, it's simply a matter of getting a Cracked Pot or Chipped Pot and giving it to the Phony or Antique Sinistea in your party to watch them evolve into Polteageist.

The simplest way to get a Chipped Pot is to visit the auction house in Porto Marinada, which becomes available after you've completed the Cascarrafa Gym. However, since there's no guarantee that a Chipped Pot will be part of the auction each time, you might need to revisit the place to try your luck at winning it.
