How to Get Mewtwo in Pokemon Go

Pokemon GO has taken the world by storm, and many players are on the hunt for the game’s rarest creatures. It’s a mobile spinoff of the handheld Nintendo games that features augmented reality, but it also uses real-life GPS data to track player movement and show them in-game locations of nearby Pokemon. While there are some similarities, Pokemon Go does have a few major differences from its handheld brethren, such as the fact that it’s not possible to catch all of the monsters by simply wandering around.

The main method of getting Mewtwo is to win its raid battles when it appears as the raid boss. This Legendary Pokémon won’t spawn in the wild like regular Pokemon, and it will only appear in five-star raids during limited windows based on events. Defeating Mewtwo isn’t easy. This Psychic-type Pokémon is weak to Bug, Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon. You’ll need to have a team of these types on hand to make quick work of the raid boss.

Another way to get Mewtwo is through trades with other trainers. This Legendary Pokémon costs a steep amount of Stardust to acquire, though the price reduces with higher friendship levels. The cost will be even lower if Mewtwo is already registered in the receiving player’s Pokedex.

It’s worth noting that using cheats and hacks in Pokemon Go is against the game’s terms of service, and could lead to account suspension. So, be sure to play the game fairly and take advantage of any opportunities you see to capture this powerful Pokémon.
