Apple’s watchOS 2 is one of the most significant updates to come out of the company in quite some time. It opens up the whole wearable to third-party developers, makes Siri smarter and cut backs on some of its reliance on your iPhone. It also adds features like a new Photo watch face, night stand mode and more.

Before you can install watchOS 2, you need to make sure that your Apple Watch is paired and up-to-date with iOS 9. To do this, open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap General. You will see a notification telling you that the Software Update is available for your watch. Then you can tap Download and Install. The download will take a few minutes to complete. You’ll want to keep your phone and watch charged during this process.

After you tap Download and Install, your Apple Watch will begin to download the watchOS beta configuration profile. Once the download is completed, you’ll be prompted to enter your passcode on both your iPhone and Apple Watch. Once you do, the Apple Watch will start to install the upgrade and the progress will be displayed on your watch screen.

Once the installation is complete, your Apple Watch will restart and you’ll be ready to enjoy all of the new features. This is a lengthy process and we highly recommend that you follow these steps carefully to ensure the update installs smoothly.
