A Tesla is a unique vehicle that is able to lock itself without the need for traditional key fobs or smart phones. While this is a great feature, there are a few things to keep in mind when using your Tesla. In this article, we will discuss how to lock a tesla in several different ways. This includes locking it with a key card, using the app on your phone, and more. You will also learn how to prevent your doors from accidentally locking.

You can use your phone to lock your Tesla if you have the Watch app for Tesla. This is available for both iPhone and Apple Watch. To use this, open the Watch app for Tesla and toggle Bluetooth direct vehicle control on. You will then need to tap Add Key on your vehicle screen and follow the prompts. You can also name your key in the app if you want to make it easier to identify.

If you don’t have your phone, you can still lock your car with a key card. Simply hold the card over the reader that is below the camera used for Autopilot on your driver’s door pillar. You may need to press firmly and wait for at least three seconds for the vehicle to respond with a small chirp.

Lastly, you can also lock your tesla manually by pressing down on the top of the key fob’s roof. This will cause the hazard lights to flash and the car to be locked. This is a great option for those who don’t always have their phone with them or if the battery is dead.
