Despite the fact that touch screens are very convenient on smartphones, accidental touches can cause trouble. For example, while watching a YouTube video, the video may stop playing, or it may skip to another one. Such a thing may happen because of the sensitive touch technology that is built in phones.
Luckily, there is a way to prevent such things from happening. There are a few apps on the market that allow you to lock the screen of the app you are currently using. This feature is very useful for those who share their smartphones with kids. You can also use the screen pinning feature on iPhone to do the same thing.
If you want to use this feature on an iPhone, you must first set up a passcode for Guided Access. You can do this in Settings, then select Guided Access. Once you’ve done this, select the video or app whose screen you want to lock. To close the session, press the lock button or the Home button (if it has a Home button) thrice, and then enter the passcode you’ve set up.
You can also prevent the screen from rotating when you’re watching a YouTube video by turning on Portrait Orientation Lock in the Control Center. You can find this option by swiping down from the top of the screen, then tapping the icon with a circular arrow in it. This will prevent the screen from rotating when you’re viewing a video in landscape or vertical mode, which can be helpful if you’re sharing your smartphone with kids.
