If you have a steampunk themed computer setup, you'll want to outfit it with some matching accessories. One of the most important pieces is a keyboard and there are plenty of steampunk models out there. Some are even designed to look like typewriters and include that satisfying clickity-clack sound. Others add a touch of Victorian style to modern PCs with wooden designs and metal cogs.

It's possible to give your existing keyboard a steampunk makeover with little effort. For example, many desktops come with a plastic base that can be easily replaced with something more authentic-looking. You can also purchase a wood veneer for your keyboard, or if you want to go all out, try making one from real elm, cherry, tigerwood, or oak.

Another option is to find a mechanical keyboard with a vintage look, which are typically made with individual spring-activated key switches instead of the standard membrane ones. These are a lot more expensive, but they provide a far more satisfying typing experience. They also have a more distinct clicking noise and often include small speaker horns for enhancing the steampunk feel.

You can even turn your iPhone into a steampunk device. It's not as easy as simply slapping on some brass and leather, but it's a fun way to add an interesting visual touch to your gadget. Alternatively, you could wear your phone like a ring to show off the steampunk design of the case itself.
